Police have arrested a 26-year-old man following the seizure of $30 million worth of methylamphetamine on the New South Wales Mid North Coast.

Police stopped Thanh Dat Nguyen, who was driving an SUV on the Pacific Highway at Nabiac, about 10:30pm yesterday.

They allegedly found 20 kilograms of meth in the car.

Police later searched a Bankstown unit in Sydney.

They said they seized $138,000 in cash, a luxury watch and drug paraphernalia.

He was refused bail at Taree Local Court on Tuesday and is scheduled to face court again on June 21.

The arrest comes after a 17-year-old boy was arrested by Queensland Police earlier this month during a car stop.

Both vehicle stops were part of ongoing investigations by the State Crime Command's Raptor Squad and Queensland Police into a drug syndicate transporting drugs between New South Wales and Queensland.
