Police seize 180 bags of cannabis after stopping driver for using phone

A huge supply of cannabis, cash and a knife were discovered by police after stopping a man driving while on the phone.

Police pulled over a man in Bolton for using his phone while driving on Christmas Eve.

But when officers searched further, they found 180 bags of cannabis, wads of cash, and a large kitchen knife.

Police joked after making the discovery, saying 'waiting for you Christmas supply of cannabis to be delivered? I won't be arriving'.

A man was arrested for drug dealing and possession of a knife, added officers from Greater Manchester Police's Bolton North neighbourhood team.

In a statement, the force said: "Waiting for your Xmas supply of cannabis to be delivered? It won't be arriving, nor your dealer, who is currently sat in our cells.

"Suspect was stopped in Bolton using his phone & driving. Later arrested for possession of a knife and drug dealing. #NaughtyList"
