Chicago police are asking for help locating a vehicle wanted in connection with a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian Saturday in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

About 5:30 p.m., a red Jeep Patriot with fog lights and rear tinted windows was traveling south on California Avenue and turned east on to 44th Street, Chicago police said. While entering the intersection of California Avenue and 44th Street, a 73-year-old man was crossing the street and was struck by the SUV.

As a result of the crash, the man was seriously injured, police said. The Jeep fled the scene.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact CPD’s Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
