Police seek witnesses of fatal collision on Ballylesson Road

Police investigating a fatal collision on the Ballylesson Road have renewed a call for witnesses to come forward.

A 57-year-old man died after his silver Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a white Hyundai car at the junction of Mill Road at around 2.10pm on Saturday, June 20, outside Lisburn.

He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger on board the motorcycle also suffered injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Over the weekend, PSNI officers investigating the collision carried out a series of road stops along the Ballylesson Road in order to try and identify anyone who may have witnessed the collision.

Inspector Darren Hardy said: "Police continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured the collision on their dash cam, to get in touch with us.

"I am particularly keen to speak with the driver of a Silver Nissan X Trail that was travelling on the Hillhall Road/Ballylesson Road around 2pm on Saturday as they may be a potential witness to the collision."

If anyone has any information that could help the investigating are being asked to call the PSNI on non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 971 20/06/20.
