Police seek man after London bus driver spat at though protection divide

Police are searching for a man after a bus driver was spat at while working in south London.

Met Police's Roads and Transport Command released CCTV stills of a person they would like to speak to in connection with the incident in Lambeth.

Officers said on March 21 at around 12.30am three men and a woman boarded a 68 bus travelling towards Camberwell on Walworth Road without payment.

After the driver asked them to pay the fare, the group refused and started an argument.

Police are appealing for information about the identity of this man (Met Police)

During the encounter, one of the men approached the driver and spat at him through the holes in the driver’s divide. The group then got off the bus.

Officers are asking that anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quoting CRIS 3009008/20.

Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
