Police are seeking a man after hand sanitiser was stolen straight off a hospital ward.

CCTV released by Northampton General Hospital shows the moment a man enters the Quinton ward before initially walking past the hand sanitiser on the wall.

Police are appealing for any information related to the man in the CCTV (Northampton General Hospital)

He then turns around and stands in front of the hand sanitiser with his back to the camera.

When he walks away, the hand sanitiser is gone.

The hospital posted the video to Twitter, saying: "Our friends at Northamptonshire Police would love to have a chat with the gentleman below who stole sanitiser straight off our wall outside Quinton ward.

"If you recognise him, contact Northamptonshire Police 101 and quote incident number 20000138273. Please don't steal from us."

The incident happened on Monday, March 9, at about 7.45pm.

Northamptonshire Police said: "Officers investigating the incident believe the man in the image may have information that could help their enquiries and are encouraging him or anyone who recognises him to call Northamptonshire Police on 101."

They also added that the wall was damaged as a result of the theft.
