Police are calling for information from the public about a luxury boat connected with a South Australian cocaine seizure worth more than $250 million.

The South-Australian-registered blue and white 10-metre cabin cruiser was found unoccupied in the sea between Kangaroo Island and Yorke Peninsula and towed to shore.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) wants to know if anyone saw the boat or people on it on March 14 or 15.

On March 18, the Australian Border Force found 416 kilograms of cocaine floating in the same stretch of ocean, known as Investigator Strait.

Police allege four Filipino men dropped the drugs off a cargo ship they were working on for someone else to pick up and distribute around Australia.

The men were charged last Thursday and appeared in court the next day. where they were remanded in custody.

The AFP released images of the smaller boat on Tuesday evening.

AFP Commander Erica Merrin said anyone with information about the boat or its occupants should call the AFP on 131 237 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

"I am appealing to members of the public to come forward if they have any information about this vessel. Please know you can do this anonymously," she said.

Police say the seizure was the largest haul of illicit drugs found in South Australia.
