Police searching for two men who fled from officers on motorbike in Musselburgh

Police are searching for two men who were riding a motorcycle which sped away from officers in Musselburgh.

Officers signalled the Kawasaki to stop around 5.30pm on Monday, after seeing the men acting suspiciously.

However the vehicle drove onto a footpath in Millhill and was lost to sight, before being found in Wallyford a short time later.

Locals reported seeing several police vehicles and dog units around Ravensheugh Crescent.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At around 5.30pm on Monday , 2 September, officers on patrol in Musselburgh observed two suspicious males riding a Kawasaki motorcycle in the Millhill area.

"On signalling the vehicle to stop, it turned off the road and drove onto a footpath, this vehicle was not followed or pursued and was lost to sight.

"It was found in Strawberry Corner, Wallyford a short time later and inquiries are continuing to trace both males."
