The police presence in the area has also been stepped up.

Detective Sergeant Matt Dixon, of South Manchester CID, said: "Officers made this discovery while conducting enquiries relating to another incident in the area.

"This is a significant find but we still need to locate the residents of the property.

"Enquiries are ongoing this morning and so there may be an increased police presence around the area.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact South Manchester CID on 0161 856 9979 quoting log 2671 of the 3rd December 2021."
