West Monkseaton pensioner who went missing is found safe and well

Police

Officers searching for a missing North Tyneside woman have confirmed she has been found safe and well.

Sandra 'Sandy' Hoganson, 71, had last been seen in the Eastfield Avenue area of West Monkseaton yesterday (Thursday) at 2.30pm.

She failed to return to her home yesterday and a search was launched by the police.

Police said her disappearance was out of character for Sandy and officers were growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Northumbria Police confirmed at around 11.30pm that Sandy had been found safe and well.
