Police searching for missing man find his car in Lochwinnoch

Police searching for a missing man have found his car in Lochwinnoch.

Kenneth Watson was last seen at his home at 9.30pm on Tuesday, November 30.

A major search for the 62-year-old was launched by police and his car has since been found on Lochlip Road, Lochwinnoch. The car was parked near to a bridge at the River Calder which leads to nearby Castle Semple loch.

A police helicopter was seen circling the Renfrewshire village on Thursday morning.

Police are becoming ‘increasingly concerned’ for Kenneth’s welfare and believe he may have driven himself from his home in Beith, Ayrshire to nearby Lochwinnoch.

He is described as six foot, one inch tall and of slim build, with grey balding hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a checked shirt, a blue fleece and blue tracksuit bottoms.

Sergeant Allan Glass said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Kenneth’s welfare and our enquiries so far suggest that he may have driven to the Lochwinnoch area where his car has been traced.

“If anyone has seen Kenneth or knows where he is then please get in touch via 101, quoting incident number 3527 of Wednesday, December 1.”
