Police searching for missing Harrogate 17-year-old thought to be in Leeds

An urgent appeal has been launched to find a missing 17-year-old girl, believed to be in Leeds.

Lucy Morris, from Harrogate, was last seen by family on May 15 when she was believed to be travelling to Leeds to meet a friend.

But the teenager has not made any text or social media contact with friends or family since May 22, which is "out of character" and is causing further concern for her safety.

North Yorkshire Police have now launched an urgent appeal to find Lucy, with West Yorkshire Police assisting the missing persons investigation in Leeds.

Lucy was believed to be travelling to Leeds on May 15 to visit a friend but she has not been seen since, it is unknown what clothes she was wearing when she went missing.

She is described as white, 5ft 3in tall with blue eyes, slim build and she has shoulder-length blonde hair. She also has a tattoo on her left hand which says “blessed”.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "Lucy, if you see or hear about this appeal, please get in touch with the police immediately and let your family know you are safe."

Anyone with information or possible sighting of a girl matching Lucy’s description is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and speak to the Force Control Room quoting reference number 12210122535.
