Police searching for missing Edinburgh woman with 'strong American accent'

Police in Edinburgh are stepping up their efforts to try to find a 58-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday from the Morningside area of the city.

Officers are seeking the assistance of the public to trace Charis De Biasi, who was last seen about 10.15 am on Wednesday (July 7) on Morningside Road.

They say they are growing increasingly concerned for her wellbeing.

Charis is described as 6ft tall, slim build and with long dark hair, she was last seen wearing a long khaki green jacket and black trousers and speaks with a strong American accent.

Constable Nathan Rhind of Howdenhall Police Station, Edinburgh said: “If anyone has seen Charis or has information or knowledge as to her whereabouts I would urge them to contact police as a matter of urgency.

“Anyone with information can call Police Scotland using 101, quoting incident 1167 of 7."
