An investigation has been launched after an 79-year-old woman died in Edinburgh.
Police were called to the scene amid reports of a "disturbance" at a property in Restalrig Circus at around 6:50pm on Friday (24 January).
The pensioner was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by ambulance where she died later that night.
Officers are keen to speak to a man who was near the address at the time, who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The man is white, aged between 20 to 30-years-old, and is described as about 5ft 6in tall with combed-back, dark hair.
He was wearing dark clothing with a top, which may of had white sleeves.
Officers remain at the scene and say inquires into the the incident are ongoing. They are urging anyone with information to get in touch with police.
Chief Inspector David Happs, Local Area Commander said: "Our enquiries into this incident are at an early stage and ongoing. The local community will see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
"Our thoughts at this time are with the family and friends of the woman who has died and specialist officers are providing her next of kin with the necessary support.”
