Police searching for 77-year-old man with acute dementia who is missing from his home in Worsley

Police have issued an appeal for the public's help to find a missing pensioner with dementia.

John McDonald, 77, was last seen walking out of his home in the Ellenbrook area of Worsley , in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police say John is living with acute dementia and speaks with a strong Scottish accent.

He is thought to be wearing black waterproof trousers and a burgundy top with a black jacket.

He is around 5'7'', has grey hair and has a slim build.

Officers have said they are growing increasingly concerned for John and are appealing for help to find him.

They say John does not know the area very well and can become easily lost.

In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson from GMP Eccles said: We are growing increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of John McDonald - 77 years old.

"John is living with acute dementia and walked out of his home address in the Ellenbrook area in the early hours of this morning.

"John speaks with a strong Scottish accent, is good on his feet and is thought to be wearing black waterproof trousers, burgandy top with a black jacket, 5'7", skin build, grey hair."
