Police search to find Bristol family members after Cardiff man dies

Police are appealing for family members to come forward after the death of an elderly man.

It is understood the relatives of Roger Sanders, who is from Cardiff, could be living in Bristol.

He died yesterday (Wednesday, February 24) but authorities are yet to trace his family.

South Wales Police posted an appeal on Facebook today (Thursday, February 25) on behalf of the coroner.

Police did not state why his death had been referred to the coroner to investigate, but the force did confirm the circumstances are not being treated as suspicious.

The post, shared on its Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan page. read: "We’re appealing on behalf of Pontypridd Coroner’s Office to find a relative of somebody who passed away recently.

"Rogers [sic] Sanders, aged 80, was from Cardiff who died in non-suspicious circumstances on 24th February 2021.

"It is understood that relatives may be living in the #Bristol area."

Anybody who is related to Mr Sanders or who knows a relative has been urged to contact the coroner’s office by calling 01443 281101.

The Facebook post has already been shared hundreds of times since it went live this afternoon.
