Police officers have taped off an area near to a caravan park after a man's body was discovered.

The man was found by a member of the public close to the Bewick Main Caravan Park in Birtley on Sunday afternoon.

"Inquiries into the circumstances around the man’s death are ongoing but at this stage there is not believed to be any third party involvement.
