Police search launched for missing Scots OAP with people urged to check sheds

Police are asking members of the public in Renfrew to check their sheds after a pensioner was reported missing on Christmas Eve.

Robert Weir was last seen on Clydesdale Avenue at around 1.30pm on Saturday December 24.

The 73-year-old is described as being around 5ft 4in tall, of a slim build, with short grey hair and is clean shaven.

He was wearing blue denim jeans, a blue or black jumper and a black raincoat when last seen.

Officers say he may be in possession of a dark coloured hat with a silver eagle on the front.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Officers request that all residents check gardens and outbuildings for any trace of Robert.

“Anyone who may have seen or who has information which could be relevant is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 2481 of Saturday 24 December.”
