Police search in Kilmarnock woodland ends in tragedy as body found

Emergency services raced to a Scots woods last night after the body of a man was found.

Police attended a wooded area, near Bellfield Interchange, Kilmarnock, around 7.20pm last night.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

Around three police cars, a police van and an ambulance responded to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 7.20pm on Saturday 24 April, 2021, police received a report a man had died within a wooded area near the Bellfield Interchange, Kilmarnock.

"A post mortem examination will be carried out in due course, however, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death."
