Police search for witnesses after dog attack in Langley Mill

Police are calling for people to come forward following a dog attack in Langley Mill.

A 32-year-old man was taking his dog for a walk on Anchor Road, part of the Erewash Valley Trail, when he noticed a pair of Rottweilers.

The dogs ran towards him as their owner shouted at the man to pick up his dog.

The animals then proceeded to attack his pet, seriously injuring the dog, and owner was bitten in the arm attempting to break up the attack.

He was treated at a hospital for the wound on his arm, but this has not been described as a serious injury.

The incident took place during the afternoon of Thursday, August 12.

Derbyshire Police are now pleading with anybody who may have seen a man in the area walking two Rottweilers to come forward.

Anyone that was in the area and thinks that they may have seen this is urged to call the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
