Police have begun an investigation after a Hunter business was broken into.
At 4am on Monday August 3, police were called to a hotel on Wollombi Road, Cessnock following reports of a break and enter.
Officers were told the business was broken into between 1.30am and 4am and an unknown man had ransacked the counter and kitchen, stolen a white van and left the scene.
About an hour before police were called to the hotel, officers were patrolling on Cessnock Road, Neath when they tried to stop a white Toyota van being driven dangerously.
A police pursuit was initiated but was stopped at Station Street, Weston due to safety concerns.
Police inquiries established that the two incidents were linked.
Detectives have released an image of the van, a white 2018 Toyota HiAce van with NSW registration FGI63L.
Police urged anyone with information about the vehicle or either incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
