Police have launched an urgent search for a pensioner who went missing on a trail biking trip in the Highlands yesterday.

Concerns have been raised for the welfare of George McGowan, after he failed to return home from Ben Bhraggie at his expected arrival time of around 1pm on Monday (July 27).

The 77-year-old, from Golspie, was on a white Beta Alp 200 motorcycle.

He is described as a white male, 5'11" with a medium build, short grey hair and glasses.

George was wearring a blue Reak motorbike jacket, blue boiler suit, blue boots, a black motorcycle helmet and goggles.

A Police Scotland statement reads: "If you have any information which may assist in tracing George please contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident 1885 27/07/2020."
