
Police are appealing for help from the public as they continue their search for a passenger in a vehicle allegedly involved in a pursuit on the Central Coast in recent days.
Officers were patrolling Erina on Friday night when they tried to stop a Toyota Corolla on Terrigal Drive, near Serpentine Road.
Police chased the Corolla before bringing the vehicle to a stop using a spike strip - the car hit a tree on Milina Street.
The driver, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to Gosford Hospital for observation.
She was later charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
A male companion fled on foot after the Corolla stopped and police are trying to track him down.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly found two firearms and weapons including a baton and baseball bat, which will undergo forensic examination.
