The mother of a newborn baby girl abandoned near a hospital in Geraldton, about 400 kilometres north of Perth in WA's Midwest, has been found after a police appeal for her to come forward.
The baby, who was found about 7:00am near the Geraldton Health Campus, was taken inside the hospital for assessment and appears to be in good health.
Police had earlier said concerns were held for the mother of the child as she may require medical attention.
They said the mother would be taken to hospital and "given any medical attention required".
"Police would like to thank the community and other agencies that assisted," they said in a statement.
