Police are searching for a missing teenager who has not been seen for about a week.

Jack Hambilton, 17, was last seen in Ngunnawal on April 5.

An ACT Policing spokesman said Jack may have also been seen in the Moncrieff area on April 6 and in Canberra's inner-north on April 8.

Jack is described as Caucasian, about 178 centimetres tall, with straight black hair, grey/green eyes and a slim build.

Police have said anyone who is in contact with Jack should reassure him that he's not in any trouble and that police want to check on his welfare.

Anyone who has seen Jack or who has information has been urged to call police on 131 444, using reference number 6770299.
