UPDATE: The missing Lake Macquarie man has been found safe and well, police said.
He was located in Cronulla after members of his family raised the alarm with authorities.

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a missing Lake Macquarie man.
Patrick Thaidy was last seen at his home in Delasala Drive, Macquarie Hills, about 8am on Wednesday.
When he failed to return home, officers from Lake Macquarie Police District were notified and began inquiries into his whereabouts.
Family and police hold concerns for his welfare because the 59-year-old suffers from several health conditions, including dementia - he may appear disoriented to members of the public.
He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 180cm tall, slim build, thin grey hair and a short grey beard. He walks with a stoop and is frail.
Mr Thaidy was last seen wearing grey tracksuit pants and a grey jumper.
Anyone who has seen Mr Thaidy or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
