Police search for missing Consett man Ian Hindmarch last seen on Thursday morning

Durham Police have launched an investigation over growing concerns for a missing man.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for 45-year-old Ian Hindmarch, from Consett, who was reported missing when he did not return home from work on Thursday.

Ian was last seen at around 8.45am in Park Road, Consett, where he would usually catch a bus into Durham.

He is described as white, around 6ft 2in tall, of medium build and with short dark hair, a beard.

Police said he has a spider tattoo on his inner forearm.

He was last seen wearing a red and black waterproof jacket, blue jeans and brown trainers on Thursday.

Anyone who believes they’ve seen Ian, or who has information relating to his whereabouts, is asked to contact Durham Police on 101.
