Missing bushwalker found in Victoria's east

An elderly bushwalker who was missing for more than 24 hours in a Victorian national park has been found.

The 77-year-old woman, who is an experienced bushwalker, was walking in the Baw Baw national park 120 kilometres east of Melbourne on Saturday when she told fellow walkers she was returning to camp.

She failed to return but was found just after 3:30pm on Sunday.

The search involved local police, SES volunteers and Victoria Police search and rescue members, who focused on several walking tracks close to where the woman first went missing.

The woman was being assessed for injuries.
