Police are searching for a missing teenager from Balfron who may have travelled to Glasgow.
16-year-old Lisa Ferguson was last seen in the Stirlingshire village late on Sunday night and was reported missing shortly before noon today (Monday).
Police say their concern for Lisa is growing and describe her as white, around 5 ft. 8 inches in height, with long, dark hair and a slim build.
A statement released this afternoon reads: "Police Scotland is seeking the assistance of the public and the media in trying to locate a 16-year-old girl missing from Balfron since Monday, 7 September, 2020.
"Lisa Ferguson was last seen in the Balfron area last night around 10:30pm. She was reported missing to the police around 11:50am today, Monday 7 September, 2020.
"Lisa is white, around 5 ft. 8 inches in height, with long, dark hair and a slim build. It’s not known what she is wearing.
"Extensive enquiries are under way to locate Lisa and it’s believed she may have travelled to the Glasgow area. Lisa often socialises in the city and has many friends there.
"Officers are liaising with travel operators and checking any relevant CCTV footage for any additional information."
Inspector Colin Sutherland said: “Our concern for Lisa is growing and everyone just wants to know she is safe and well. Our attempts to locate her have so far proved unsuccessful and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Lisa or who has any information or knowledge as to her whereabouts to contact us.”
