Police are searching for the car involved in a hit-and-run that left a person dead last week in Woodlawn on the South Side.

About 12:30 a.m. May 10, a male was crossing the street in the 6600 block of South Cornell Drive when he was hit by a car that then fled the scene, police said.

Police believe the car that struck him may have been a black 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra. The car may have damage to the front driver’s side bumper and quarter panel, as well as its windshield, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
