Police are searching for a missing Bellshill man who hasn't been seen since the early hours of Friday morning.

Officers believe Lawrence Penswick may have travelled to Strathclyde Country Park after some of his belongings were discovered near the loch.

The 57-year-old was last seen at 2.40am on Friday and Babylon Road and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

An appeal issued by the Lanarkshire Police Division on Sunday advised: "Officers in North Lanarkshire are appealing for assistance from the public to trace missing person Lawrence Penswick.
