A girl was taken to hospital and a boy arrested after an incident near the Fallowfield Loop.
Police were called to a report of 'concern for a female' at Athol Road, Whalley Range at around 3.50pm today..
A girl was taken to hospital and a boy was arrested at the scene.
Part of the Fallowfield Loop, accessed off Athol Road, was sealed off by police.
"This is an ongoing incident," a GMP spokesman said.
"At around 3:50pm today officers attended a report of concern for a female at Athol Road Manchester.
"Officers attended along with NWAS and a female was taken to hospital. A male at the scene was arrested and is currently in custody.
"A scene has been established and officers remain at the location."
