A large section of the Royal Alexandra Hospital has been locked down by police amid reports of a serious incident.
Cops taped off wards 38 and 39 as well as the Mental Health Day Service unit at the Paisley hospital at around 7am this morning.
A number of officers remain on site as the investigation continues.
One passerby said a police dog unit was also deployed at the scene.
Police Scotland and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have both been contacted for comment.
