Police seal off Kilmarnock street after man is assaulted

Police have sealed off a Kilmarnock street after a man was assaulted earlier this morning.

The 22-year-old was attacked at around 4am on Seaford Street and is now being treated for his injuries in hospital.

The extent of his injuries are not known at this time.

More than eight hours after the assault took place, cops were still at the scene gathering evidence.

Both entrances to Seaford Street were also taped off while officers worked inside the cordon.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers were called to Seaford Street, Kilmarnock, around 4am this morning following reports of an assault.


“A 22 year-old-man is currently being treated in hospital for his injuries.”
