Police seal off Dalmuir Park in Clydebank after body of man found in water

Police have closed off a park in Clydebank after the discovery of a man's body.

Officers from Police Scotland confirmed that the man's body was found in water in Dalmuir Park this morning.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man was found in water in Dalmuir Park, Clydebank this morning, Monday, 9 December 2019."

Officers are currently carrying out inquiries into the death and are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the park either on Sunday evening or Monday morning who may have seen a man walking either alone or with a dog.

The force said: "Call police on the 101 number if you saw a man walking, who may have had a dog with him. 

"Callers should quote the reference number 1370 9 December 2019."

West Dunbartonshire Council have also tweeted about the park closure.

They wrote: "Dalmuir Park is currently closed due to a police incident."
