Police scouring CCTV footage after alleged burglary at NI restaurant

Police are investigating after CCTV footage showed an alleged burglary at a Co Down restaurant.

Security film from the Wine and Brine restaurant in Moira appears to show a man prising open the main door of the premises.

Once inside, it is understood that the hooded assailant attempted to force open the till.

He then left through the same door he entered by.

PSNI Inspector Gray said: "At around 3.40am, it was reported that entry was gained to a property in the area.

"Although nothing is believed to have been taken during the incident, damage was reported to a till inside the property.

"Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact police in Lisburn on 101, quoting reference number 644 22/03/20.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
