A police officer died on duty on Tuesday afternoon.
Police Scotland say there are “no apparent suspicious circumstance” relating to the death.
The officer died while serving in the Montrose area in Angus.
No details of the officers name or age have yet been released.
Chief Superintendent Andrew Todd, Tayside Divisional Commander, said: “The sympathies of everyone at Police Scotland are with the officer’s family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
