Police Scotland confirm a body was found near a Lanarkshire bridge

Police Scotland have confirmed that the body of a man was found in Bellshill today (Monday, March 20).

Officers said the death is being treated as unexplained following the discovery near to the Calder Bridge in the Lanarkshire town.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man was found near to the Calder Bridge at Bellshill today, Monday, March 30 2020.

“The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.

“The death is being treated as unexplained at this stage.”
