Police scene outside house after 'non-human' bones found

Police are investigating after 'non-human' bones were found in Rochdale .

Officers were called to Turf Hill Road at around 4.50pm on Wednesday (February 26) to reports that bones had been discovered.

Photographs from the scene taken today (Thursday) show a police car outside a house.

There were reports that a forensic tent had been put up in a garden.

The Manchester Evening News understands that the bones have been recovered and confirmed as 'non-human'.

The scene remains in place today as officers continue to investigate.

A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 4.50pm on Wednesday 26 February 2020, police were called to reports bones had been discovered on Turf Hill Road, Rochdale.

"A scene remains in place whilst enquiries are ongoing."
