Police say people breaching Covid lockdown rules to visit Kirkstall 'will be fined'

Police warn people who breach coronavirus regulations by visiting Kirkstall "will be fined."

West Yorkshire Police say they are taking a firmer stance on breaches and people caught doing so will receive a hefty fine.

The strict warning comes as the force revealed that people have been frequently attending venues in the Kirkstall ward and a number of fines have already been issued in the west of Leeds.

The force added those caught will be handed a Fixed Penalty Notice of £200 for the first offence but this will double further until a maximum of £6,400.

However, this will go to £10,000 if you hold an illegal gathering of over 30 people.
