Police say modern slavery victim found as 400 cannabis plants discovered

Police say they believe a victim of modern slavery was found at a the site where more than 400 cannabis plants were discovered.

The plants were found in Wilsthorpe Road in Breaston, located next to Long Eaton.

Along with the plants, police officers from Long Eaton found a Vietnamese man in the house and he was taken "to a place of safety".

A spokesperson for Long Eaton Police said: "Officers attended a house in Wilsthorpe Road on the night of Monday, December 6 and found almost 400 plants growing in five rooms.

"A Vietnamese man was found at the house, whom officers believe to be a victim of modern slavery. He was taken to a place of safety and is being supported.

"The investigation into the grow is ongoing."
