A fire at a block of flats in Dunblane is believed to have been started deliberately.
The blaze broke out within a first floor flat in Charles Street around 7.45pm on Friday.
Police are now appealing for information about the incident.
Investigators believe the blaze may have been started behind the front door of the flat, possibly by having something dropped through the letter box.
As a result, the fire is now being treated as suspicious.
A joint investigation is ongoing between Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
No one was injured in the fire and nobody was at home in the property where the fire started. It’s believed the alarm was raised by a number of residents who called for help.
Police are now trying to establish the motive behind the blaze. A spokesperson said: “Anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious, should called 101, quoting 3455 of December 6.”
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the area where crews extinguished the fire.
“Firefighters left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
On Monday morning the four flats were empty with the front entrance to the block boarded up and a first floor window at the rear of the building blown out.
Occupants of the four properties had to vacate their homes while the building was made safe following damage by water as rescue crews tackled the fire.
A Stirling Council spokesperson said: “We have placed one tenant in temporary accommodation and are working with the police and fire services as they investigate both the cause and aftermath of the incident.”
