Police rushed to a Motherwell street, this morning after reports of men with firearms.
Around 10 police cars blocked the street as specialist officers swooped at a property in Merry Street at around 10.40am.
Several people were arrested in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland officers were called to Merry Street, Motherwell at around 10.40am today following reports of men with firearms within a property in the area.
“Specialist officers attended and a number of people were arrested in connection with the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
