Police rush to Glasgow primary school after man 'exposes himself'

POLICE rushed to a Glasgow school after a man "indecently exposed himself".

Officers were alerted to a man allegedly exposing himself at a primary school in the city on Tuesday, August 26.

The force was called to the incident at around 11.30am. Following that, a 20-year-old was arrested and charged in connection.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, August 27.

It is understood that no children were present or witnessed the alleged incident.

Following the reported incident, an email was sent to parents and carers of youngsters at the school.

It read: "I am aware that there is information circulating about an incident that we had to deal with in school, which required the help of the police, and I wanted to reassure our families that no children in the school were present or at risk at any point.

"The incident involved a member of the public, and our school staff acted swiftly in the circumstances and called the police.

"As this is now a police investigation, I hope that you will understand that I am not able to share many details.

"The safety of our children and staff is and remains our priority, and I know that the presence of the police will have caused concern.

"Thank you for the continued support of our school community, and I will share more details if and when I can."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.30am on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, we received a report of a man indecently exposing himself at a school in Glasgow.

"A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, August 27, 2025."

A Glasgow City Council spokesperson added: “The school is helping police with their inquiries and has sent families reassuring communications that this incident did not involve or was witnessed by children.

“It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage as this is an ongoing police investigation.”
