Police rush to Falkirk school after pupil alleged to have knife

Police rushed to a school in Falkirk amid reports of a pupil being in possession of a knife.

Officers were alerted to the incident at Bo'ness Academy at around 10:30am and found the weapon in the school grounds.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A number of cops are reported to have been spotted at the scene.

No-one was injured as a result of the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with possession of an offensive weapon on a school premises in Boness, after officers attended a school at around 10.30am on Wednesday, 6 October, 2021.

"Nobody was injured as a result."

A Falkirk Council spokesperson said: "Police officers dealt with an incident in one of our schools today.

"We’d like to reassure parents/carers that there was no danger to any pupil or staff at any time."
