Police rule out foul play after sudden death in Kilmarnock house

Police said today that the death of a man in a Kilmarnock house isn’t being treated as suspicious.

Officers were called to Morven Avenue on Friday at around 5.35pm following the death of a 49-year-old man.

Police initially said the death was being treated as ‘unexplained’ but have since ruled out any foul play.

A number of police cars and an ambulance were at the scene while door-to-door enquiries were carried out.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police were called around 5.35pm on Friday, May 22, following the report of a sudden death of a 49-year-old man at a property in Morven Avenue, Kilmarnock.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
