HARTFORD, Conn. _ State police investigators were back at the MDC reservoirs in West Hartford Thursday, searching for evidence in connection with the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos, the New Canaan mother of five who disappeared in May.
Police suspect that Farber Dulos' estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, is responsible for her disappearance, although he is only facing charges of hindering prosecution and evidence tampering. Dulos was arraigned for the second time on evidence tampering charges on Thursday in Stamford.
Nearly two dozen police officers, including search dogs, were at the reservoirs off of Farmington Avenue in West Hartford.
Since Farber Dulos disappeared on May 24, police have repeatedly searched the area around Dulos' home near Deercliff Road in Farmington, as well as the nearby West Hartford reservoir property, a sprawling park popular with hikers and runners. Dulos and Farber Dulos lived on Jefferson Crossing in Farmington until she moved to New Canaan in 2017.
In a warrant released by police earlier this month, police outlined their theory of how Dulos may have killed his wife. Police say he allegedly ambushed her in New Canaan on the morning of May 24 after traveling from Farmington in a truck owned by one of the employees of his home construction company.
Police have videos of a man they say is Dulos disposing items in trash bins along Albany Avenue in Hartford the night after Farber Dulos disappeared. In a subsequent search, police say they found items of clothing stained with Farber Dulos' blood.
Dulos and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have been free on $500,000 bonds since their arrest in early June on charges of hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence. They have not been charged with murder.
