A suspected drink-driver was rescued from a car he had flipped onto its side - then urinated in a police patrol car.
The ungrateful motorist was rescued by police and passers-by when his VW Up failed to negotiate a junction in Sale and ended on its side.
He was escorted into a patrol car - only to urinate in the rear of the vehicle.
The suspected drink-driver, who blew twice the driving limit, then had the cheek to blame the police for his lack of self-control in the back of their car, according to GMP.
The drama happened close to a petrol station on Marsland Road at the junction with Hope Road shortly before 6pm on Sunday.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The driver of the VW was breath-tested and blew 79mg of alcohol when the limit is 35mg.
He was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to Wythenshawe Hospital as a precaution, although he refused treatment.
On GMP's Trafford South Facebook page, a force spokesperson described how the incident unfolded.
They said: "Shortly after 1754hrs patrols attended to a report of a VW Up on its roof at the junction of Marsland Road & Hope Road. Numerous officers attended and witnessed the VW Up-side down with the sole male occupant struggling to exit the car.
"Officers were assisted by members of the public who was helping to try and free the driver who did not understand instructions. It was clear why the accident occurred when the male was out of the car due to the strong smell of alcohol.
"The driver was placed in the rear of a police vehicle after being assisted to walk, whilst in the rear of the car the male decided to urinate, which he blamed on the police!
"The male blew more than 2 times the drink driving limit providing a reading of 79, the limit is 35.
"He was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital as a precaution, however he refused treatment and is now detained in the cells until he's sober and where he can’t be a risk to anyone by his driving.
"The photo is a screenshot from the council CCTV and is not the clearest; you can see both rear lights and the top break light as its lay on its passenger side."
