Police rescue frightened deer after it made its way to Asda store in city suburb

Police community support officers rescued a deer after it made its way into an Asda care park in a city suburb.

Radford Police received reports of a small deer on the loose around the Forest Recreation Ground on Monday, June 1.

PCSOs managed to find the frightened animal after it made its way to the Asda store in Hyson Green.

The force said: "It made its way to the entrance of Asda’s car park before two of our PCSO’s managed to keep it safe.

"It was safely sedated and is now with the RSCPA."

The RSPCA says if a fawn is spotted, you should refrain from approaching the animal and particularly refrain from touching it.

Young deer are usually left on their own by their mothers who return at dusk to feed them.

If you believe it to be orphaned, injured or in distress you can call the rescue organisation on 0300 1234 999.
