Missing 13-year-old schoolboy is found following police appeal

A 13-year-old schoolboy who was missing over Christmas has been found following a police appeal.

Miles Kennedy-Newton was last seen at lunchtime on Thursday, December 17, at his home in Shiney Row, near Sunderland.

At the time police said the teenager had links to the Consett, Langley Park, Tow Law and Newcastle areas.

Durham Constabulary first issued a missing persons appeal on December 21 and reiterated their appeal in a bid to locate the schoolboy earlier today.

Thankfully the force confirmed this afternoon (December 29) that Miles had been located.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are pleased to report that Miles has now been located.

"Thank you to everybody who assisted us by sharing this post."

Along with their appeal, the force also shared a photo of Miles on their social media pages and asked anyone with information to get in touch.
